I'm Susan Averre
I am an artist who paints mostly from photos. I love animals and work hard to capture the personality of each pet that I paint.
With old family photos, I do the same thing: the eyes are the window to the soul. I try to paint the soul of each individual in a family painting..
We begin by email.
Tell me what you would like.
We can then go over what kinds of photos are best and translate into the best paintings.
Sometimes, with a treasured family photo, we want that subject (or group) painted for sentimental reasons, even if the lighting or angle isn't the best.
In this case I can make some digital edits prior to painting. We will go back and forth until you are satisfied and know what you will get.
My goal here is to create a piece that will be cherished and handed down to future generations.
